Massage Therapy Medical and insurance providers increasingly approve massage therapy as a supplemental treatment for pain and stress. The recognition has created a growth industry that will grow faster as baby boomers begin to age.
As a student in this program, you’ll develop skills in the theory and practice of massage as well as hydrotherapy techniques such as sauna, steam room, treatment tables, local and full immersion baths, whirlpool baths, hot and cold packs and paraffin baths. You’ll study hygiene, anatomy and physiology, legal and ethical aspects of massage practice, allied therapies, leadership, human relations skills, and health and safety. Upon completion you’ll be qualified to take the certification examination for licensure in the State of Florida.
