Building Construction Program

Your Florida Coast Career Tech training is real-world, hands-on from site-clearing and preparation to reading blueprints, ordering and organizing materials, and operating complex equipment. During your training you can network and intern with major contractors and become employed while you’re still in school. Course and certification options include general construction: residential, industrial and commercial buildings; and sub-contractor specialties such as carpentry and electrical work.

You can’t live in Florida without AC. Employment opportunities in this field remain strong and the demand for skilled people is growing faster than other occupations. Heating, air-conditioning and refrigeration technicians install systems that control the temperature, humidity and total air quality. You will concentrate on technical skills required to install and maintain residential, commercial and industrial systems. Internships are available with major area contractors.

Welding is the backbone of construction. More than 80 different processes are used to join heavy beams and sheets of steel in shipbuilding, paper mills, power plants, aerospace, automobile manufacturers, construction and other industries. Employment requires professional certification. Your concentrated, hands-on training includes referrals for internships and employment interviews with major contractors.
