Cosmetology Program

Cosmetology

Today’s women want to walk out feeling good and looking great. Cosmetology is a thriving and lucrative business. Courses at our North Campus are offered days, evenings and weekends. You’ll train in a fully simulated salon with a professional cosmetology-certified faculty member. The concentration is on hair, skin and nails. You’ll analyze skin, scalp and hair conditions; learn the correct methods for applying makeup and the right products to use; and you’ll practice basic therapeutic techniques. Upon graduation, we help with job placement.

Massage Therapy

Medical and insurance providers increasingly approve massage therapy as a supplemental treatment for pain and stress. The recognition has created a growth industry that will grow faster as baby boomers begin to age.

As a student in this program, you’ll develop skills in the theory and practice of massage as well as hydrotherapy techniques such as sauna, steam room, treatment tables, local and full immersion baths, whirlpool baths, hot and cold packs and paraffin baths. You’ll study hygiene, anatomy and physiology, legal and ethical aspects of massage practice, allied therapies, leadership, human relations skills, and health and safety. Upon completion you’ll be qualified to take the certification examination for licensure in the State of Florida.
